Upcoming Special Events

Welcome to 2008!
As K Ventures begins its 26th year of offering tours for you, it is
appropriate to take a look back, as well as ahead. As we grow older, the
nature of the business changes somewhat. The organization will be smaller
and more focused on quality tours for you, our loyal customers. There are
many, many folks whose company we have all enjoyed over the years who are no
longer with us, or who cannot travel due to physical constraints- they are
very deeply missed.
Looking forward to the coming year, there are adventures described inside
which will tease you to get "out and about" despite the winter weather. You
all know by now that winter trips will be canceled or postponed at no
obligation or cost to you if weather does not cooperate. Plans for spring
include shamrocks (St. Patrick's Day), barbershop harmony, more theater, and
lilacs- plus a surprise or two. Everyone should take advantage of the new
musical "WICKED", and just a very few cabins are still available for the New
England Islands Cruise advertised earlier.
So- our New Year's resolution- keep on working to bring YOU as many HAPPY
DAYS in the coming year as we can!

SUMMER SURPRISES
A delightful summer day awaits you in the Genesee Valley as we seek out a
few surprises.
In Dansville you'll discover Clara Barton, an amazing woman who dedicated
her life to the care of others and founded the American Red Cross. Clara
lived here for over a decade after the Civil War, took the "water cure" at
the Castle on the Hill, and put into motion the organization that still
today offers support, assistance, and guidance in time of special need. Then
its off to Geneseo, where lunch is served at the historic Big Tree Inn.
Several menu choices will be offered for your indulgence at this Genesee
Valley landmark. After lunch, you'll visit the Abbey of the Genesee, a
community of Cistercian Monks who seek God in their community of brotherly
love. Theirs is a very special place, dedicated to the spiritual life and
simple endeavors. At the Abbey, you will learn about the order and their
activities. The monks grow and harvest sunflowers, and your visit is timed
to view acres of them in bloom. The well known "Monks Bread" is baked here,
including sunflower bran; you'll see the bakery and visit the small shop.
$59
Pickups 7:30-9:30 am, returns after 5:00 pm
